Two people aged 65 or older were admitted to the ICU for COVID treatment between Sept. 17-23., and two people in that same age category died from the virus, the data show.

COVID deaths outside hospitals aren’t included in the province’s data.

While the province described the number of hospitalizations as “stable,” the data show they rose by 12 per cent, up from 51 between Sept. 9-16 to 58 between Sept. 17-23.

There were 15 outbreaks reported during Sept. 17-23: four in nursing homes and nine in locations only described as “other.”

Brunswick News has asked to speak to Dr. Jennifer Russell, the province’s chief medical health officer, and is awaiting a response.
