The storm is expected to start as rain late Wednesday, and change over to snow in most areas on Thursday morning. When it’s all said and done, New Brunswickers can expect 25-50 millimetres of rain, five to 15 mm of freezing rain, and combined ice and snowfall accumulations of up to 25 centimetres.

Alerts have been issued for Fredericton and southern York County, Fundy National Park, Grand Lake and Queens County, Grand Manan and coastal Charlotte County, Kent County, Kouchibouguac National Park, Moncton and southeast New Brunswick, Oromocto and Sunbury County, Saint John and county, St. Stephen and northern Charlotte County, Sussex-Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County.

“Similar storms in the past have caused hazardous driving conditions, traffic delays, and scattered utility outages,” the Environment Canada statement reads. “Precipitation amounts could exceed the values mentioned above.”
