Clyde Simon Joseph Sock, 30, was charged on June 15, 2022, with making available intimate images of three women without their consent in Elsipogtog on Jan 24, 2021 and committing bestiality with a dog between March 1, 2020 and Jan. 30, 2021.

The trial had been set for three days in Moncton provincial court, starting March 6, but the Crown had to adjourn it because a technical expert was no longer available to testify.

The trial was rescheduled for two days starting May 28 but the defence filed an application arguing for the case to be stayed because it had taken more than 18 months to get to trial, which is the ceiling for cases at the provincial court level. A hearing was supposed to happen May 21 on whether or not Sock’s right to a trial in a reasonable amount of time was violated but the case was in court and resolved on Thursday.

Sock appeared with defence lawyer Dustin Caissie and pleaded guilty to all four charges. A pre-sentence report was ordered, along with victim impact statements from the three women, who can’t be identified due to a publication ban.

Sentencing will happen July 25.
